Accenture is Establishing a Dividend Increase Track Record

September 28, 2015

Last week, Accenture (ticker: ACN) declared a semi-annual dividend on the company’s common stock of $1.10 per share for the first half of FY16 (August 31st Fiscal Year End), a 7.8% increase over the dividend paid for the same period a year ago. This is the 6th consecutive year the company has raised its dividend.

Accenture is one of the stock holdings in NovaPoint Capital’s Dividend Growth Strategy.  Our Strategy seeks to own high-quality, dividend-paying stocks with a track record of annual dividend increases.  Our research shows that a portfolio of companies with track records of raising their dividends has, on average, produced total returns higher than both the market and their non-dividend paying peers.  We look for companies with a minimum track record of five years of consecutive dividend increases which Accenture meets.  The average track record of dividend increases for companies in our current portfolio is thirty-one years.
