Emerson’s Modest, but Consistent Dividend Increase November 9, 2015
The Board of Directors of Emerson (ticker: EMR) approved an increase in the dividend on the company’s common stock to $0.475 per quarter from $0.47, a 1.1% increase. While the increase was modest, this is the 57th consecutive year the company has raised its dividend. Few companies have such a lengthy track record of consecutive annual dividend increases. At last week’s closing price of $49.23 per share, the new dividend represents a current yield of 3.9%.
