Alan is NovaPoint Capital’s president. He also serves as the firm’s chief compliance officer and fixed income portfolio manager. Alan has over 25 years of experience in the investment management industry. Prior to founding NovaPoint, he was a fixed income manager at both Spectrum Advisory Services and a private family office. Alan also worked in the Bank Group division of Countrywide Capital Markets where he developed balance sheet strategies for depository institutions. He earned his BS in Banking and MBA in Finance from Nova Southeastern University. Alan is an endurance athlete and three-time IRONMAN finisher. He is a board member of Positive Growth, an organization that improves the lives of children, youth, adults and families during difficult life transitions by providing residential and community-based treatment services.
Joe is NovaPoint Capital’s chief investment officer and lead portfolio manager for the firm’s investment strategies. He has over 20 years of experience in the investment management industry. Prior to founding NovaPoint, Joe was a portfolio manager at Spectrum Advisory Services and GMT Capital in Atlanta and Epoch Investment Partners in New York. He also worked as an equity research analyst at Merrill Lynch and ABN Amro. Before beginning his investment career, Joe was an Infantry officer in the U.S. Army. Joe earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and his MBA from the University of Chicago. He is both a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Chartered Market Technician (CMT). Joe’s volunteer activities are focused on helping military veterans by starting the Bunker Labs Atlanta chapter and as treasurer for the U.S. Army Ranger Association.
Jeff is a managing director and portfolio manager responsible for wealth management to NovaPoint Capital’s high-net-worth clients. Prior to joining NovaPoint, Jeff was a Vice President in the Private Banking and Investment Group at Merrill Lynch. He also worked at Booz Allen Hamilton and the Department of Defense. Prior to his private sector career, Jeff was a Field Artillery officer in the U.S. Army. He earned his BA from the University of Texas and MBA from the University of Maryland. Jeff is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He serves on the Board of Elders of Piedmont Church in Marietta and on the Board of Directors of CureCP, a non-profit that directly helps children with cerebral palsy by funding innovative research, clinical trials, and studies at medical institutions in the U.S. Additionally, he is a member of the U.S. Army Ranger Association, Northeast Cobb Business Association, the Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals, and participates in other community organizations that support the special needs and veteran communities.
Frederick is a managing director and portfolio manager working with both individual and institutional clients. He has over 25 years of experience in the investment management industry. Prior to joining NovaPoint, Frederick was a partner and wealth advisor at Brightworth where he advised high net worth investors. Frederick began his investment career in 1991 at Balentine & Co where he rose to Partner. He also co-founded and served as Chief Investment Officer at Wright Investment Management and at Smith & Howard Wealth Management. Before beginning his investment career, Frederick was an Engineer officer in the U.S. Army. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and his MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. Frederick is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He is a member of CFA Institute, Atlanta CFA Society, Southeastern Hedge Fund Association, Atlanta Writers Club, U.S. Tennis Association, and ALTA.
Christina is a managing director of accounting and tax strategies. She earned her CPA license in 1998 while working as a Senior Accountant for Bennett Thrasher PC. Subsequent to her time at Bennett Thrasher, she worked in financial service industries (for mortgage, fintech and lending institutions), in the public relations industry, and in manufacturing for an international manufacturing company in the aerospace industry. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio magna cum laude. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs. She has also earned professional certifications in bookkeeping for small businesses, Quickbooks, and as a certified tax preparer/planner and tax coach for small to medium sized businesses and individuals. Christina spends her spare time volunteering through her church and her daughter’s school and attending and supporting various events related to cancer awareness and research.
